France Trip Day 12 – Surrealism Spring @ Parc de La Villette (2010/5/21)
Condition: Full energy
Plan: Never has one
Mood: Lovely
Outside is sunny yet
still a bit chill; however, Friday is always a good start for a long weekend. I
still don’t have any idea how the definition in terms of holiday in France . Friend
told me this Friday is off, so we say it’s a long weekend!
For May, there are quite some days off. And according to my previous working experience in a Taiwanese food import company which is associating with many European brands/companies, that I could still recall that for months such as July, August, December and January, many holidays as well during these months. Plus another fact that the official weekly working time is 35 hours, thinking about that, I couldn’t help wondering…how come there is a country likeFrance ?
Nevermind, back to my park trip inParis .
Parc deLa Villete is the largest
park in Paris
which is full of landscape, green, art and music events. And the best part is
so far this park is not yet a popular tourist place at the moment since it’s
located in 19th district that is not in city centre.
Built in 1987, the architect, Bernard Tschmi, shaped this place from an old slaughter house and national meat market into an open area with a sense of deconstructivism. It is now a park, with art, music, and laughter.
After a long walk, we decide to relax a bit on the grass, a picnic improvising with only coke cola and caramel peanuts. Children play football on the green grass nearby, people ride on bikes by the blue canal alongside, a guy is practicing some kind of Brazilian martial art under the blue sky, and the music of breeze comes to us all the way from the other side of the lightening universe.
Everything seems to be vivid and blurry at the same time, like the dream I always dream to have. And I shall be either happily crazy or crazily happy, to share this dreamy Friday afternoon, with you, inParis .
