France Trip Day 13 - I'm organizing an escape, wanna join me? (2010/5/22)

Paris is all time sunny but still nice to live without it for a while. Weekend is meant for breeze, so the road takes us to Normandie. With the expectation of running away, here we come for the treasure of satin blue.

2 hours drive from Paris.

Packed with numerous tourists who seek for the sun, Normandie is still amazingly full of fresh air for everyone who desires for a break. Walking around in the commune, Honfleur, which has still kept its unique ancient houses decorating with spring messengers, flowers in the garden become a sign for good time.

Sunny afternoon tea time with meringue and sea breeze.

Crunchy meringue is all time favourite sweet, which is simply made of egg white and sugar, low heat baking for long hours, and then we can gently float on cloud, ride on dreamy mary-go-round that tastes definitely as sweet as childhood fun.

Quiet Adventure on the street.

Acting as a 100% tourist, running away from Paris has never been such a good idea. Photo shooting competition is ongoing between ancient houses whilst the silent streets are our best cover. Being politely quiet, we invite ourselves to take some secret walks into anonymous gardens. Time is frozen in this little town; waves haven’t washed away the trails of history. The roof seems to tilt a little bit, but still covers all the laughter and warmth which gather people to here.

The night whispers.

Walk around the port after dinner which is finished nearly at 12 o’clock. Suddenly the weather outside becomes slightly chill after a long fine day. Lights on, sea birds rest, the old flagstone road guides us home.

It’s the end of the day, feeling absolutely reluctant before goodnight. Like reading a most beloved novel, when it’s nearly finished, just somehow refuse to get to know the answer, and can’t wait to go back to the very first line.
